I have been eyeing these contemporary tables for a long time now but didn’t want to spend that much dough. Actually there was another problem, I liked the style of the first one (see the corners on the bottom) and the rustic finish of the second one.

I had seen one exactly like this years ago at Home Goods for a fraction of the price but it was square. And I needed a rectangular one! What to do? Patience is the name of the game! After waiting for almost 2 years finally got my baby. Saw this at Home Goods for $149.99 and immediately sent a pic message to B.
The next day we hopped over to Home Goods and grabbed him as fast as we could. Here he is cosying up our family room.
By the way the back up option for my coffee table was another Restoration Hardware knock off, this factory cart table.

Yes that price did make me swoon! Home Decorators Collection and Kirklands (remember seeing it last week, don’t see it now hopefully will be in stock soon) have similar ones for much less. Again I had seen the same one for around $200-ish at Home Goods over a year ago. If you are adventurous enough to build one yourself, here are the instructions from the great DIY-er Ana White. I tell ya that lady can work magic with wood.

Vidya, this post just brought back memories… When we moved in to our new home 3 years back… we slowly started buying stuff for the home… and the one thing that we could not decide upon was the coffee table. We had a certain size in mind and the ones we liked were either too small or too big.. . Just the right size table was so elusive that after a search for about 6 months, my wife casually mentioned that we should build our own coffee table. And that was the beginning of Woodooz and all that we are doing there.
I can totally relate to not making a satisfactory find as far as coffee tables go… It is right at the center of the living room and there is always a need to get it right. I really like the ones with the rustic look and the legs add to the simplicity of the design. I can also see that you really enjoy buying stuff for your home (who really does not like it) and are very clear about what you need. Way to go. Thanks for sharing this post 🙂

I love that table!! I have been eyeing the dining table version at Home Decorators for about 2 months now. My husband isn’t big into the industrial look, but I think this one isn’t too over the top. 🙂 Great score!
I am so in love with the industrial look. It just looks so simple and clean. B wasn’t into it in the beginning either. Now he is on board, I think. 🙂 May be it needs some getting used to. Couldn’t let it go for that price tag. Hopefully you will find yours at a great deal too.
Hi Vidya!Lovely table!While you were at it did you see any good round ottamans/tables ?I’m looking for one and going crazy.I will send you pics of my half done living room and you’d get an idea of the basic style.I am bending more towards a wooden one..a low round coffee table.Just picked up a random gold end table yesterday…has mirrors and is gold!Dont know how i’m going to use it but just loved it and picked it up from HomeGoods.Let me know if I can share pics with you.I have been meaning to post them on my blog…don’t know when I’ll get to doing that.P.S.Did I ever tell you I am in love with your Buddha:)
Thanks Garima. I have seen round coffee table like ottomans at HG before. I remember CB 2 and west elm having low round ones too. Gold end table with mirror sounds really glam. Would love to see a pic. Do send the pics in @ [email protected]. Thanks on the Buddha. We love him too but can’t seem to find the right place for him in the current home. He has moved again, will post an update soon.
