We still have a few more days of spring left. So I guess I can pass it off as spring? Anyways, since we are on the topic of crossing off things from our To Do list, here is a small one. Though small it has become a life saver already and is something that we should have tackled long ago…..our garage.
Ever since we had dumped our old sofa and love seat in there (when we got the new family room sectional) we have been ignoring it. Then in May, as I mentioned here we got lucky the second time around on Craigslist. Important lesson, learned if you do not get any responses the first time you list something then wait for a few months (if you can afford to) and try again.
All those months of neglect resulted in this…..

No, the mess was not staged. It was the real thing. 🙁 We had stored all the plants for the landscaping project in there for a week. That kinda made it worse.
After about 2 hrs of cleaning up (as you can see we got a ton of extra help too) and stashing away unused stuff we ended up with this.

Those patio chairs cushions are gonna stay in their box till we find a place for them. The Craigslist chair is waiting for its turn on the redo list. So that gotta stay there. One more shot of the messy ‘before’ view.

Now the ‘after’. Goes to prove that you don’t need to spend much moolah to set things in order.

We hung a few hooks (that we already had) for the tools, stashed away some in storage bins, and even stored the extra hoses and extension cords in the storage space above the ceiling. The green bin with the red lid stores all the kids’ sports stuff, baseball bats, basket balls, helmets etc. For me the best part is that I finally have a potting area!

Though a small one all my extra pots and tools are off the floor now. As we already had that shelf it cost us nothing to put this together. An old shoe box serves as holder for all my plant tags.

Way better than saving it in extra pots and having it strewn all over the floor with every wind. One more project out of the way!
Are you all ready for summer? Done with all your spring to dos?
