Happy last week of Jan! As we bid adieu to the first month of the year I’m happy to report that I’ve stayed true to my word of the year, Organize. Be it in the kitchen or the blog cleaner sleeker look is the name of the game these days. As you’d have already noticed things are looking a bit different around here, starting with the new header, logo, and the site layout. The blog has gone through many changes over the years but this one I think is the farthest we’ve come from our first face lift back in May of 2012. I searched through my old files to see if I had a pic of how it looked like back then but it seems I don’t have the habit of taking screenshots of blog changes so this is all I have, my first header when the blog started in Jan 12.
- Point and shoot camera √
- Pics taken with flash at night √
- Out of focus shots √
- Basic PicMonkey (think it was Picnik back then) banner √
Can’t believe how far my photography and editing skills have improved in the last 3 yrs! All thanks to blogging. 🙂
So what changed in the looks department? I switched from the Blissful Child Theme to the Foodie Pro Theme. As the blog was already on the Genesis Framework from StudioPress.com it was pretty simple to make the switch this time around unlike my last endeavor. Can’t tell you how much I love the Foodie Pro Theme. It is so easy to customize! The theme itself is geared more to the visual senses, which I think gives the a blog a more sleeker professional look. Feel free to click around especially the galleries (sub tabs in the main menu).
Moving on to the survey, thanks again to all of you who participated. Really appreciate all the insight y’all provided. The first question’s result was no big surprise. I kinda knew that. 🙂
The age group too was as expected.
And most of you are non bloggers, a reminder for me to pare down the techy blog talk.
Another interesting fact was how long you’ve been a reader of WUHS. A big Hi-five to all you who have been part of this journey through the years and big welcome to the newer folks. Thanks again for your support and time.
Majority of you are email subscribers and come to the blog via the RSS feed email. Most commonly used social media is Facebook followed by Pinterest. Content wise y’all like what you see.
What does all this mean? More fun stuff to come. 🙂 I’ve been busy working on my daughter’s room makeover, painting the walls, painting furniture etc. Lot of exciting projects to share……Sit tight as we are gonna go on a rocking decorating ride.
