As I was getting my monthly (nowadays it has become more like a weekly) fix of Home Goods inspiration and salivating over the oh…so pretty stuff, it hit me…..why don’t I do a series of posts about my window shopping explorations? More than actually wanting to buy stuff, these trips are a form of stress relief and getting some ‘me’ time …..plus the laziest way to burn a few calories 😉 .
The first thing that caught my eye, this bust of a horse (is that what it is called?). Anyways… lately I have got a thing for horses. The horse on the living room coffee table started off the trend. This one in particular may be a bit too big for a coffee table but would be just right for a desk in the man cave or even the study. Though I loved the color and the features it was a bit too manly for me. The fact that my man is not that into horses didn’t help either.
WOW…..I just caught a glimpse of CAPIZ……..CAPIZ……As you can tell I am capiz crazy. This vase was gorgeous, would look great on a fireplace hearth or even a media console (where the TV is mounted on the wall) in a large room. Sadly B has totally put a cap on my capiz buys. 🙁 It seems he can’t stand all the sheen!
Talking about media consoles, how is this one? Love the rustic finish. If not for the tag ($399.99, which actually wasn’t that bad) and the pastel paint finish I would have considered buying it. Plus this was about the same height as our current one. We wanted something a little bit taller.
Mirror mirror every where. Have been on the look out for a mirror chest for our family room for some time now. Almost bought one months ago at our local TJMAXX. I liked the size of this one, the price was doable, but something about the finish bothered me. May be it is a bit too shabby chic for the look that I was going for?
Hmm…whats this? At a first glance it looked like a lamp. On a closer look, it was just a …….I still don’t know what it is, lets us call it a show piece. Looked really cool though. Would have bought it in a heart beat if it were a lamp. Even as a show piece would have looked great in the study but not for $39.99.
And that was it!
